For my computer class I need to talk about something new I learned from the presentations of my classmates.I have to say that what I learned made me very happy and it is so useful, hope you like!
So two members of my class showed me the website last.fm. If you go on it and in the search box type an artist name or band name it will than show you almost like a profile of the band. It will give you a little biography of the band or artist, than show you all the albums that were made by the musician or band plus some other things. This website will also give you the “radio” of that band or artist and you can listen to it, that part is almost like Pandora, another music site. Now if you’re on the profile of the band or artist click on "View (band member or artist name will be next to the word VIEW)"...that will take you to another page and that page will let you see similar bands or artists to what you have already picked. So basically you get too introduce yourself to new music.
EXAMPLE: (how to find similar artist to Tokio Hotel)
1) Go to last.fm
2) In the "music search" box, on the right near the LOGIN sign, type "Tokio Hotel"
-you should be on this page-
3) You than will see 3 large boxes with the names of each box such as TOP HIT, ALBUMS and TRACKS.
4) In the box TOP HIT, on the right corner you will see "View Tokio Hotel" click on that
-you should be directed to this page-
5) There should be 5 Sections (or boxes kind of) ... 1. saying TOKIO HOTEL, 2. SIMILAR ARTISTS, 3. TOP ALBUMS 4. TOP TRACKS and 5. SHOUTBOX
6) In the box SIMILAR ARTISTS click on "see more"
- you should be on this page-
7) You now see the similar artist to Tokio Hotel such as Devilish, Cinema Bizarre,La Fee etc....
**note**- on the right of each band or artist it lets you know how similar the band or artist is to Tokio Hotel (that goes for any band or artist you look to find similar)
